It was Valentines Day and my second wedding of the year, and it was back to Colchester Town Hall! Melanie and Jay decided to have an intimate wedding surrounded by their nearest and dearest, starting with the ceremony at Colchester Town Hall. I arrived in the morning to meet a very nervous groom before guests started turning up and taking their seats. Pretty soon Melanie’s car had arrived and she was making her way down the aisle.

Once the happy couple had exchanged rings and said their “I do’s” they were beaming with smiles and making their way back up the aisle as husband and wife! After a few quick photos at the Town Hall, we made our way towards Barn Brasserie in Great Tey, but before we got stuck into dinner we stopped off at the Chappel Viaducts. This proved to be such an amazing location for photos and Melanie and Jay were so amazing. Mel started climbing into the arches without any hesitation despite them being even taller than her! I’m so glad that they both jumped up into the arches because I absolutely love the images. It’s a bit of a dream for an Essex Wedding Photographer to have such great locations just like this one to work with, very lucky indeed!

After a few more snaps it was back to the Barn Brasserie just up the road, where we spent a few minutes with guests before jumping into the group shots. Soon it was time for dinner, quickly followed by the cake cut and speeches. After lots of laughter and tears, everyone sat back and enjoyed their evening with friends and family. Before I left them to it, we ran back outside to grab one or two more photos just as the sun was starting to come down.

I love the smaller, intimate weddings. It just goes to show, you don’t need lots of gimmicks and thousands of guests to have an amazing wedding. Just the right people and lots of love in the room. Big congrats to you both!
