Crondon Park: Victoria & Steve

Crondon Park Wedding
Christmas came early for this Essex wedding photographer

December 16th and my final wedding of the year. Not only was it my final wedding of 2017, but it was an amazing Christmas themed wedding! There were two Christmas trees, two snow machines, and more tinsel than Santa’s grotto.

My day began at Crondon Park, as I eagerly awaited the arrival of the groom. No bride or groom prep today, pretty much straight into the ceremony. Steve was soon at the venue, he said his ‘hellos’ and ‘welcomes’ to the early guests and then got straight into setting up the snow machines. Pretty soon we were all being ushered into the ceremony room as the bride had arrived…not long now till the “I do’s”.

The ceremony was lovely, intimate and short and went without a hitch. After a quick catch up with some guests we braved the cold Essex weather and went outside for a few group shots. The weather was on our side, it might have been freezing but it was dry and nice and bright, so we went straight into the couples shots. I tried not to keep them outside in the cold for too long, but Victoria and Steve were more than up for staying outside for a few minutes longer which I’m so glad they did, I really love the light in the photos that we got.

Once we were back inside and warmed up, there was time for a few more photos, including a bubble/confetti shot! A few canapés later and plenty of mingling, it was time to sit down for the wedding breakfast. Speeches were up next and were as embarrassing for the groom as they were sweet and heartwarming.

With it being December, the sun was long gone by about 4.30pm, so we ran outside to get some nice shots in the dark as soon as the speeches were finished. I’m really pleased with how these shots came out, and big thanks to the newlyweds for being so patient whilst we moved lights and snow machines around! We didn’t stay outside for too long though, we needed to go back in and warm up!

Soon it was the cake cut and first dance, a quick bit of dancing before everyone was dashing outside to watch the fireworks. Pretty soon, the newlyweds and their guests danced the night away. It was such a lovely day and a great way to start feeling festive. I’m very lucky to be an Essex wedding photographer and shoot at these amazing Essex venues, and Christmas at Crondon Park definitely did not disappoint. Big congrats guys…
