Elm Farm Country House: Alannah & Lee
16 June 2017
On one of the hottest days of the year I travelled up to Norfolk for Alannah and Lee’s big day. As much as I was looking forward to shooting the big day I was mostly looking forward to my first doggy wedding! Dog ring bearers and a few four legged wedding guests too!
We started off by getting a few snaps of the bride and her bridesmaids getting their hair and make up done, it was a fairly calm morning and there were not too many nerves. Soon I was on the hunt for Lee and his best man who were nowhere to be seen…turns out he was trying to tie the rings to his ring bearers collars. We grabbed a few shots of this and then a few of the groom and best man too. Next up, the bride was getting in her dress!
The ceremony was soon underway and it was a sweet, intimate ceremony. It was very emotional and there were tears streaming from the guests. Amazingly, the dogs were perfect! They were definitely on their best behaviour.
The newlyweds spent a few minutes with their guests before we went into the group shots and then straight into the couple shots. Of course, we grabbed a few pics with the dogs too! It was a great wedding to be part of as Lee and Alannah were up for getting as many photos as we could, and were more than happy to try out all of our daft ideas…thanks guys.
Next up, we were throwing the confetti before heading inside for dinner. Speeches were soon upon us and were short and sweet and amazingly ended with an impromptu game of ‘The Floor is Lava’!
The sun started to go in ever so slightly…never as much as we would have liked but it was enough to bring out the off camera flash and have a go at putting a few shots together. We spent a little while getting some more photos and I’d like to give a big thanks to the wedding guests with the vape pipes who risked their lungs to help us get some of my favourite shots of the day. Thanks guys!
Soon it was the cake cut…with a couple of caterpillar cakes! And then straight into the first dance. The first dance was changed at least 7 times during the day so I honestly can’t remember what they ended up going with!
It was a great day out in Norfolk and I loved being part of Alannah and Lee’s big day. They couldn’t keep their eyes of each other all day and they made my day so easy….plus I got to play with dogs all day which was briilliiaanntttt. Congrats guys!! – David Dean wedding photographer Essex.
