On the 26th of August I headed down to Greenwoods Hotel in Stock to shoot Rebecca and Ilkay’s wedding. I headed upstairs to find a room full of bridesmaids, flower girls and page boys, and somewhere amongst it a bride-to-be too. The morning was pretty chilled with lots of laughter, tears, tons of hairspray and one flying cork. Meanwhile, a few miles down the road, Ilkay was having a similar morning, just with a little less hairspray.
After a couple of hours there were guests arriving and making their way over to the ceremony and Rebecca was getting in her dress. We had time for a few quick snaps before the Father of the Bride came in and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. We made our way downstairs to get this wedding underway…
It wasn’t long before the happy couple were grinning from ear to ear and all of the “I do’s” were said and done. We were soon throwing confetti, posing for the group shots and then we were getting into the couple shots. We spent about half an hour away from the crowds grabbing some photos of the newlyweds. It’s always nice to have that bit of quiet time away from everyone, just for a short time, before heading back to the party. Everyone headed in to take their seats at the wedding breakfast, followed shortly by Rebecca and Ilkay making their big entrance! Dinner was followed by speeches that were embarrassing, funny, sweet and emotional. We soon headed back outside for a few more snaps before the cake cut and first dance. I love the first dance at any wedding, it always makes for good photos, and this wedding was no different!
The sun had gone in for the day so we headed out into the darkness to get some extra shots with the off camera flash. Big thanks to the happy couple for coming away from the party to let me grab some extra shots! After putting out the sparklers we headed back in for the money pinning ceremony and to dance the night away…and maaannn can this lot dance! This was a full on party and I don’t think anyone sat down for more than a couple of minutes all evening.
I loved this wedding. The newly revamped Greenwoods Hotellooked great, the family and friends were friendly, and the bride and groom were awesome to work with. Couldn’t be happier for you both! Congrats guys – David Dean Wedding Photographer Essex.
“We informed David of what we wanted and he did not disappoint in this! He goes above and beyond what we asked, kept us in the loop at all times, and answered the million questions that I had” Rebecca and Ilkay Massar
