Exactly a year to the day since I was last at Greenwoods Hotel (for Rebecca and Ilkai’s wedding-check the other blog pages!), I was back to photograph Vicky and Alex’s big day. Unfortunately, this time round, the weather was not on our side. It was pretty rainy all day, but this didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. Especially the bride and groom! I started the day with Vicky and her bridesmaids upstairs in the hotel. Everyone was pretty calm as they all got ready and it wasn’t long before it was time for Vicky to get into her dress!
Downstairs the guests were arriving and starting to take their seats in the ceremony. A slightly nervous groom stood at the front and waited for his bride to make her way down the aisle. The ceremony was perfect and the newlyweds were grinning from ear to ear. We went straight into the couples shots and found some places in the hotel to grab a few snaps. The weather was still pretty miserable but it didn’t matter as Greenwoods is a beautiful venue with lots to work with indoors. Next up was the group shots, before letting Vicky and Alex get back to spending some time with their guests.
Soon the guests were sitting down for dinner and the newlyweds were welcomed in by the Toastmaster. But before the starters were served it was time for speeches, which led to lots of laughter and plenty of smiles around the room!
It wasn’t too long before the cake cut and the first dance and then Vicky, Alex and their guests could let their hair down and really enjoy the night. It was only slightly drizzly outside by the end of the night so we popped outside for a few minutes for the last couple of snaps before I left them to it. Big congrats to you both guys!
