Hylands House: Charlotte & Adonis

Hylands House wedding photography

On the 8th of July 2017 I learned that I bloody LOVE Greek weddings. This was my first, and it did not disappoint!

The day started with Adonis at the family home in North London. The house was calm and slowly started to fill with more and more family and friends before the ceremony started. Adonis, all dressed and prepped, was good to go! Meanwhile, I made my way over to Charlotte for bridal prep and her ceremony.

Tucked away in a bedroom upstairs, Charlotte was having her hair and make up done. More family and friends began to arrive and so did her bridesmaids who all came to help get Charlotte into her dress. After some pulling, tugging, breathing in and holding her breath, Charlotte was in the dress! Soon we were in the garden with all of the family, friends and the musicians to begin the ceremony before heading off to the church.

The church was stunning! It was a beautiful building with lots of light which made my job lots easier. We grabbed a few shots outside with Adonis before the ceremony began, and soon we were heading inside to wait for the bride.

Charlotte soon arrived and the ceremony went without a hitch. There were grins on the faces of everyone in the church, not to mention the bride and groom. Afterwards we came outside to throw the confetti before making our way to Hylands House. I’ve wanted to shoot at Hylands House for ages and I’m so glad I finally got to, and a big thanks to Charlotte and Adonis for letting us grab the shots we really wanted to! I love being a Chelmsford wedding photographer, the venues there are stunning.

It was soon time to go into dinner, but this was no sit down meal! This wedding party was FUN. I was told there would be a short dance before everyone sat down for their meal…but this was not just a quick, short dance. I’m not sure that the dance even finished. I don’t think anyone sat down on their chairs, they stood on them and danced pretty much throughout the whole meal. It was such a great atmosphere, genuinely one of the most fun weddings I’ve been part of with some of the friendliest and funniest bunch of wedding guests.

I guess the guests managed to finish some of the dinner because we were soon moving onto the speeches that were as funny as they were moving. We grabbed the couple and dashed outside again for a few more shots with the last bit of sunlight of the day, before they made their way back inside for their first dance…well it wasn’t their real first dance..they hadn’t stopped dancing all night!

The rest of the evening was an absolute blast. The entertainment was amazing and the guests were even better. After a few more photos outside, it was time for the money pinning ceremony.

The whole day was absolutely amazing and was a genuine pleasure and privilege to be part of. I loved everything about this day and had such a great time. Thanks for having me there guys! Congrats…
