What a day! I’d been so excited for this day for a long time. I’ve known Daryl the groom for as long as I can remember and it was an absolute privilege to be able to photograph his and Katy’s big day! On the 5th of May 2019 I headed out of Essex and over to Kingston Upon Thames to the Kingston Lodge Hotel where I found Katy and her bridal party getting ready. Everyone was pretty chilled out and the nerves were not kicking in…not yet anyway.

We soon made our way up the road to St. John the Baptist church where we found Daryl and all of the guests getting ready for the ceremony. It wasn’t long before we had a bride walking down the aisle, a groom just about keeping himself together, and a church full of smiling faces. Everything went without a hitch and we soon had a very happy and brand new Mr and Mrs Harris!

After running through the group shots and chucking some confetti around we let the guests go back to the Kingston Lodge Hotel, whilst me and the happy couple made the short journey over to Richmond Park where we spent some time getting some pics…and a few funny looks from members of the public too!

Soon, we were back with the rest of the wedding party and tucking into the amazing BBQ, before starting the speeches. Not long after the speeches we had something totally new to me…a Rock Choir! A choir made up of around 50 people, including one very energetic/enthusiastic/mental choirmaster, filled the dance floor and ripped through a bunch of hits before Katy joined them for a couple of songs too!

Next up was the cake cut and first dance, swiftly followed by the guests flooding the dance floor and getting the night well and truly started. To finish the night everyone made their way outside with the sparklers to make a sparkler tunnel for Daryl and Katy, before heading back in to tear up the dance floor!

It was a genuine pleasure to be part of the day, to see some old friends and even make a few new ones. I couldn’t be happier for them both, big congrats guys!
