It was my first wedding of 2020, but more importantly, it was Carly and Ian’s big day! I made my way to Mulberry House in Ongar, to find Carly and her bridal party all getting ready. The super chilled bride-to-be was busy getting herself ready, whilst the boys were across the hall knocking back a couple of beers. Nice and easy morning!
Guests were soon taking their seats and Ian was at the front of the ceremony room, we were just missing the bride! We soon had two newlyweds walking back up the aisle, grinning from ear to ear, we even got a little dance from Ian!
As it was the 1st of February, we were running out of light pretty quickly, so we got straight into the couples shots before heading into the group shots. There wasn’t much of it, but the sun that we did have was perfect!
We made our way inside to warm up and spend some time with the guests, before heading inside for dinner and speeches. Before the speeches though..Carly and Ian had a little surprise. Singing waiters!! I blooming love singing waiters, and these guys did not disappoint. They had everyone up and dancing, and this crowd were more than happy to get involved.
Once everyone was completely worn out, they were allowed to sit down and recharge whilst listening to the speeches. Lots of laughter, lots of love, and a few tears too.
After the speeches, we went straight into the cake cut and first dance. From here the dance floor was heaving. You couldn’t get the guests off of it! After popping outside for a few nighttime snaps we came back in, where the DJ announced we were having an old school garage hour with glow sticks. AMAZING! Aurora Pearl (who were DJ’ing, provided the dance floor, and loads more!) smashed it, it was an amazing night!
I had a really good time with these guys, they were so much fun and so easy going. What an amazing start to the year as a wedding photographer Essex!
