Mulberry House: Mel & Andy

Well, what a day! It was fun, it was emotional, it was bloody brilliant! With the situation with the Coronavirus (last time I’ll say the C word, I promise!) becoming a big problem for weddings, the country, and the rest of the world, Andy and Mel put on a brave face, pulled their socks up and did their best to have the best wedding they possibly could. And they did just that!

My day began at Mulberry House where Mel and the bridal party were all getting ready. Everyone was pretty chilled out, no major nerves, and just a few quick tears here and there. Meanwhile, the boys were arriving and cracking open the beers. Pretty soon they were getting suited and booted and were ready to go. Mel was soon getting into her dress and making her way to the car, ready to drive to St. Mary’s Church just around the corner. However, this was going to be a bit of a different service. The night before the wedding, the Church of England had brought in some new restrictions, so with less than 24 hours notice we’d been told the wedding couldn’t go ahead as planned because of the…you know…so it was a very special, intimate ceremony for Mel and Andy with just their nearest and dearest…and me.

The ceremony was beautiful, but there was no time to hang around as it was back to Mulberry House to do the ceremony all over again in front of the guests! Take two of the ceremony was just as great and went without a hitch. Soon, we had two newly-weds walking back up the aisle, grinning from ear to ear!

After a bit of time with guests and an amazing magician, we went for a little walk around the grounds to get as many pics as we could, we even nearly got the llamas to give us a smile! We made our way back inside to warm up and have a quick break from photos, before heading back outside for the group shots and to throw the confetti.

After a final couple of card tricks and some time with guests, it was time for the wedding breakfast, followed by the speeches. There was lots of laughter, love and a fair few tears too.

Next up was the cake cut and first dance. As soon as Mel and Andy welcomed their guests onto the dance floor, there was no keeping them off of it! The band were amazing and kept everyone entertained and dancing all night long. I grabbed Mel and Andy for a final few shots outside in the dark, before letting them get back to the dance floor…where Andy was proving he’s got some serious moves!

This was a very, very special wedding for me and all of the guys working at Mulberry House that day. It might have been our last wedding for a while, but we certainly went out with a bang!

Big, big congrats to you both!
