Three Rivers: Lorraine & Dan
14 April 2017
Lorraine and Dan got married on Good Friday, and it definitely was a good Friday!
It was a sunny Easter weekend at Three Rivers in Chelmsford, and the weekend was kicking off with Lorraine and Dan’s big day. The day started off pretty calmly with Lorraine getting ready in the bridal suite. Not too many nerves and the room wasn’t manic either with just Lorraine, her mum and me snapping away in the corner. It wasn’t long before bridesmaids, pageboys and flower girls started to arrive though and the day was underway…
Meanwhile the ceremony room and the bar were starting to fill up…mainly the bar. Guests were arriving and chairs were being filled and somewhere amongst it was a slightly nervous groom. The ceremony went without a hitch. It was a perfect ceremony, not too long and not too short, lots of laughter, tears and love. It’s always a privilege to stand up the front with the bride and groom, seeing every little smirk, smile and tear.
Straight after the ceremony we whisked the couple off for a few shots with just them. Lorraine and Dan were great to work with, any ideas we had they were up for it and they gave us all the time we wanted. Perfect couple! Straight after we ran through all of the group shots, or tried to (we had some very unhappy toddlers on our hands), then after a little bit of mingling it was time for their first dinner as Mr and Mrs Goldsmith. The speeches were short and sweet, plenty of stories which caused lots of laughter and tears. These were soon out of the way, much to the relief of those standing up and telling them, and we were back outside to grab a few more photos with the last bit of sunlight we had.
Next up the happy couple were cutting the cake and busting some serious moves for their first dance! Everyone was soon joining and there were shapes being thrown everywhere. After a short while Dan and Lorraine came outside one last time for a final few shots with the off camera flash (thanks for coming out guys, I know it wasn’t the warmest evening!), then it was back inside to dance the night away…
